Today 07/02/2024, the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture (DSRAC), Teachers, Cllrs & Learners joined the celebration of the World Read Aloud Day under the theme “Discovering a Social-Emotional Lifeline Through Reading”.
The Team visited Matatiele Primary School, Ikaheng Pre-School in Ward 12, Njongoyethu Pre-School in ward 20 & Maria Linden JSS in Ward 13.
This was Aimed at encouraging the culture of reading amongst young people in order to combat the high rate of illiteracy.
