Book Club Meeting

BOOKCLUB MEETING: Cedarville Public Library


Book club meeting was held at Cedarville Public Library on the 15.07.2022.lt was chaired by Mrs L.Mzinyathi .Openning prayer Mrs E.Lottering.
Welcoming was done by Mrs B.Qokela .Qokela, she welcome everyone to participate in the meeting.
Purpose of the day was done by Miss N.Cebo.The aim of this meeting was to encourage them to read even with their grandchildren at home . Reading a book can take you on a journey through a life of a real person and help you gain insight into human behaviour.There are no wrong ideas and this give us a sense of freedom and creativity. Book club allows us to discuss our own opinions on a book .Even if reading was not a part of our everyday life before but now we must learn to appreciate the advantages of enjoying a book.
Message of support was done by Mrs J.Rhadebe. It make us to forget all our problems
.Especially problems that caused by our children at home. She said even at home, she encourage their grandchildren to go to school to get a better future. Sometimes talking about the book we relate our own lives .Reading is enjoyable.
Apologies due to their old age some were at home due to bad weather.
Activities: Cards, Chess Master and book review .All of them were participated. Book review was done by Mrs R Tsoloane. They discussed about Ukugqabhuka kwethumba by
N.Nomdebevana (lsiXhosa Novel).lt was a sad story .The story was about a man who does not like to stay where the parents stay. This man died and his wife get pregnant .Other children went to school but this boy does not go to school, life was too difficult to him although her mother was alive but she was not taking care of him. This book teaches us that we must treat people equal.

Challenges:

Due to unavailability of funds, I was not being able to have catering.
